Cool weather over flowering resulted in lower than average yields. A warm, dry summer to follow fortunately ensured that our limited production achieved optimum flavour ripeness and will see the 2017 vintage be remembered as one of the best in a decade.

WINEMAKING  Hand harvest Open ferment in wood 15-20% whole bunches Wild yeast 25% new oak 11 months in French oak barrique Unfiltered Bottled February 2018.

NOSE
A spicy herbal nose with vibrant fruit attributable to whole bunch fermentation.
 
PALATE
Fine and textured tannins on the palate.
 
DRINK WITH
Beef bourguignon, rare roast beef.
 
CELLARING
Although drinking beautifully now, this wine will reward substantial cellaring, perhaps even for 24 years and beyond!
